CoachWeb and the Sport Coach UK Data Fields Requirements
“The completion of a number of front line coaching projects identified within the UK Coaching Framework recognised the need for, and challenges associated with, data collection. The lessons learned from these projects identified the need for data collection to evolve towards a common set of data fields for use across the sports coaching industry.” - Introduction from the Data Collection for Sports Coaches.
In our view this is a great step forward in the professionalisation of sport in the UK as it sets in motion a move towards commonly recognised qualifications, data portability and a national licensed workforce.
A question you might ask of CoachWeb is, "How does the software adhere to the minimum data fields required to capture information about a sports coach?" For this we will consider Part C, the minimum data fields required. A copy of Part C can be found on the sports coach UK website.
Complete the "Minimum" right out of the box!
We are please to confirm that all three versions of CoachWeb enable the capturing of all the recommended data fields right from the word go. This means that by subscribing and using CoachWeb your organisation can fulfil your data collection responsibilities in line with the Minimum Recommendation without any further development or tools.
CoachWeb provides an extensive application form for coaches to complete when they sign-up for CoachWeb and it is this form that captures the recommended data fields. Elements of this application form such as the qualifications and courses inputted by the coach can be endorsed by the coach manager thus differentiating between self-declared and validated information. This process enables the responsibility for the data entry and updating to be assumed by the coach - they are after all the people to know their information best!

Output Key Performance Indicators
At CoachWeb we whole heartedly follow the principle that users should be able to extract or export the same and more information than they input. This means that all the data fields CoachWeb collects are available to be taken off the system by a privileged user. This is done through a number of exports and reports that come with CoachWeb which enable spreadsheets and XML files to be outputted from the system.
If you would like to know more about the "data collection" functions of CoachWeb please arrange a demo of contact our office.
